Showing up for yourself is an ongoing practice that requires consistency and so much compassion. Self portraiture is one way to see yourself, through the lens of compassion. Looking at photos of yourself can trigger old beliefs about how we should show up in photos.

My @selfportrait practice has been the most terrifying, eye opening and satisfying form of self nurturing I have done.

It helps me deal with the ongoing investment of my relationship with my body and exposure to all the versions of myself, as I age and move and evolve through life. It’s tough sometimes and therapeutic at other times, but it always begins with the desire to say yes to myself. When is the last time you said yes to yourself?
